Private Client Services

Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.
– Theodore Roosevelt

Our multi-disciplinary approach to private client services enables us to support individuals and families even with the most complex of financial needs. That approach is built upon personalized service and regular, transparent communication.

Advice

Our advice extends beyond our sound capital allocation counsel.  We are also committed to enhancing our clients’ financial well-being by providing proactive advice on the associated complexities of wealth, which range from estate and retirement planning to family business succession.

Our team works with a limited number of individuals and families as clients to ensure we deeply understand their challenges and can provide the personal attention required to achieve their long-term objectives. We also work with our clients’ other wealth professionals, including lawyers, accountants and estate planners, to provide holistic advice.

Highest standard of compliance

We are committed to the highest standards of compliance. They permeate throughout our organization and the organizations we work with.

That includes our custodian, National Bank Independent Network (NBIN), a division of National Bank Financial (NBF). NBIN provides us with the business services of Trading, Clearing (Deliveries & Settlement of securities and assets), Segregation & Safekeeping of assets (Custodian), and Recordkeeping/Information services (Confirmations & Statements).

Both Harbourfront Wealth and NBF are investment dealers registered with the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA, including the Ontario Securities Commission), members of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), Canada’s regulatory body that protects clients and their assets, and members of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF) where customers’ accounts are protected within specific limits.

Communication

Communicating to our clients transparently and effectively is critical to our business and our clients’ confidence.

Our clients receive regular communications that feature client news and updates, webcasts, market updates, fund summaries and commentaries. We also publish articles and podcasts to share value-added ideas and perspectives with our clients.

Reporting

In addition to receiving monthly statements and confirmations produced by NBIN, clients receive monthly KJH Fund updates, and every quarter we provide a detailed portfolio report. Clients also have 24/7 access to their investment portfolio via our client portal and investor app.

Events

Every month, we host an investment update to provide clients with our insights on the economy, markets and how we are allocating and investing capital. These events provide our clients with direct access to our investment team to ask questions and get advice. We also host additional client events across Canada which are shared through our regular communications.  Subscribe to our communications below.
